Meeting Between Iranian Ambassador to Zimbabwe and Director-General of Pasteur Institute of Iran
On May 13, 2025, H.E. Mr. Hosseini, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Zimbabwe, accompanied by Mr. Vaezi, the Zimbabwe Desk Officer at the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, held a productive meeting with Dr. Mostafavi, Director-General of the Pasteur Institute of Iran.
During the discussions, Ambassador Hosseini highlighted the pivotal role of reputable scientific institutions such as the Pasteur Institute of Iran in fostering bilateral scientific and economic cooperation with African nations. He underscored the existing potential for enhanced collaboration, particularly in light of the 2022 Memorandum of Understanding between the Pasteur Institute of Iran and Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Health and Child Care.
In response, Dr. Mostafavi reaffirmed the Institute’s commitment to strengthening ties with Zimbabwe, with a focus on key areas including vaccine and pharmaceutical exports, as well as joint educational and research initiatives. He further emphasized the importance of leveraging diplomatic channels to promote Iran’s scientific and medical expertise, contributing to global health advancements while supporting the expansion of Iran’s export capabilities. The meeting concluded with mutual expressions of optimism regarding future collaboration and the shared goal of advancing global public health.
